Symbol encounters Landing attacks on the field

There are monsters (kemono) in field areas. Touching them will begin a battle.

Landing attacks on the field gives you an advantage when the battle begins.
In contrast, you will be at a disadvantage if you are caught by an enemy behind you.

Also note that monsters (kemono) vary in strength even when they have the same symbol.
The ones closer to the road are less dangerous than the ones farther away (groups include more enemies, or other types of enemies).

Action Ring

Action Ring 1 Action Ring 2

The image showing the action order in the top left of the combat screen is called the Action Ring.

It shows characters moving clockwise on three concentric rings, gaining the ability to act when they reach a designated position.

Each character's movement speed on the rings is determined by their "Speed" stat, and characters on rings deeper in travel a shorter distance around.
This means that they also have shorter times to wait until their next turns.

Repeatedly attack an enemy to "Stagger" it, then attack it more to "Collapse" it.
You can move to an inner ring when you Break an enemy, and the enemy you Broke will move to the outermost ring.

Final Strike Combat Skill 1 Combat Skill 2

Halu

Halu 1 Halu 2 Halu 3

Halu can be summoned in a battle when the Photon Dynamo is fully charged.
When Halu is summoned, he takes turns for one of the party members and fight against the enemies.
Halu has a high battle power, but no MP. Thus, all of his actions require Action Points (AP).
AP for Halu needs to be used wisely otherwise it will run out quickly.

  • Photon Dynamo can be charged by damaging or defeating enemies.
  • When Halu is defeated, the party member simply comes back and take turns for Halu without any penalty.
Once the Phonton Dynamo is fully charged again, Halu can be summoned again.

Soulstone

Soulstone 1 Soulstone 2 Soulstone 3

An exclusive item to Shunya, and the number of Combat Skill increases as she charges Soulstones by using "Charge Soulstone" in a battle.

Ex)
The Combat Skill, "Fiery Net: Single Fire Magecraft" can be used regardless of the number of Soulstones, but "Fiery Net II: Range Fire Magecraft" can only be used when she has at least "1" Soulstone.
The number of Soulstones does not decrease even if you use "Fiery Net II" within the same battle, so you can use "Fiery Net II" consecutively in one battle.
Some of the Combat Skills consume the charged Soulstones, but they have more powerful effects.

  • The use of "Charge Soulstone" ends the action for the turn, but restores the MP, which can be very useful in a long run.
